White Party

The shapes in this work are drawn from fleeting human silhouettes observed at beaches in Indonesia. People seeking to leave behind the chaos of everyday life and reconnect with nature. But as they search for quiet, remote places, the experience changes: the crowds they bring with them begin to disturb the stillness they came to find. This work reflects that contradiction; the deep human need for stillness, and how easily we take it away simply by trying to reach it.

The sculpture serves as a quiet reminder to move gently through places of beauty like Indonesia. To stay aware of the impact we leave behind, and to honour the stillness not just by seeking it, but by protecting it.
