This sculpture explores the idea that existence does not rely on being seen. Inspired by relationships and identity, the work reflects on how different people touch different parts of us, creating different versions of ourselves that exist within us, even when we don’t experience them.

The work started from a single circular core, representing the most fundamental version of the self: the self before it is shaped by others, expectations, or surroundings. From this core, I created cut-outs and fragments, each originating from the same form but becoming its own variation.

These fragments represent the different versions of ourselves that emerge through people, places, and relationships. Some are close and familiar, others feel distant or inactive, until something or someone brings them alive.
